7.8 kilo seatrout on the Fight lure
21-10-2011
This one was just brought to our attention. Swiss fisherman Wettstein Eugens caught this magnificent sea trout while visiting the Danish Island of Bornholm in May this year. Casting a Hansen fight lure from the coastal shores, he hooked this massive fish which fought like it was never going to run out of power.

Despite its immense power reserves, Wettstein managed to land the fish - and it was a real lunker with a lenght of 86cm and a weight of 7,6 kilos.

Seatrout on the Silver Arrow
19-10-2011
Thorkild Soerensen was out fishing one of his favourite coastal stretches a couple of days ago, and the conditions were rough and cold. The winds had picked up, and so Thorkild chose a lure that was able to cast far despite the turbulence. The choice was the new Hansen Silver Arrow in the colour Yellow Green Silver, and the result was a nice silvery sea trout which fought valiantly in the cool fall water.

Fall spoon colours
13-10-2011
Quite often, fall sea trout fishing is characterized by fish that are finicky and difficult. The fish are moving towards the rivers to spawn, and in the process, they slowly stop feeding actively. They simply become too focused on the task at hand.

Some seatrout will already have entered the rivers by now, but the coast will hold lots of fish none the less - a mixture of coloured pre-spawn fish and silvery ones, who for one reason or the other, have decided to skip spawning.

The water temperatures are plummeting, and for the spin fisherman this means that certain spoons are to be preferred over others. Especially hot colours, such as red, yellow, orange, and green are good when the water temperatures are low, and these colours have another advantage. They seem to be able to make large pre-spawn fish strike out of pure aggression, and so colours such as MJ, Jaffa, Red Black, Yellow Green Silver, and Orange Yellow Gold are great alround colours for the upcoming period.

Bombarda and Micro-Stripper action
30-09-2011
The Hansen micro-Stripper lures are perfect for bombarda fishing, and they have a particularly luring effect on fall trout. The lures themselves don't weigh much more than 4grams, so unless you're fishing small rivers the bombarda float is necessary to get the spoon out there where the big trout swim.

Simply pull the line through the bombarda and the bombarda stick and mount a swivel in which you attach 2,5 - 3,5 meters of fluorocarbon leader. Tie the Micro Stripper onto the leader, and then you're ready to go.

Depending on the water depth and how fast you want to retrieve the lure, you can use either a floating, and intermediate or a sinking bombarda float.

Salmon on the Hansen Stripper
15-08-2011
Thomas Ask Rasmussen was out fishing a stretch of the by now legendary Skjern River in the Southern part of Jutland. In broad day light, he succeeded in teasing this lovely chrome salmon into striking his favourite Hansen Stripper spoon - and then the fight was on. The fish delivered a heady fight with lots of eager runs, but in the end it surrendered and was beached by the experienced angler.

Another Stripper-caught seatrout
27-06-2011
Thomas Hansen from the Island of Fyn has been out fishing quite a bit lately from his boat. He has focused his efforts mainly on the coastal region of Storebaelt, and several seatrout between 40 and 65 centimeters have been landed. The biggest one was a beautiful, silvery sea trout weighing in at 3,5 kilos, and like the majority of the other fish, it fell for a Hansen Stripper lure.

Salmon on the Namsos spoon.
30-05-2011
Magnus Gunnarsson made a short stop a river Lagan this Saturday afternoon. The weather was overcast with drizzling rain and at the end of the line, Magnus had attached the trusted Hansen Namsos Lure which has caught great numbers of Salmon over the past years. The fishing was hard with only one salmon being caught all day on the whole river. But already after an hour's worth of fishing, a salmon grabbed the Namsos spoon and set off downstream. The Okuma Citrix reel handled it with perfection and after a 10 minute fight, a nice 3kg bar of silver was netted. Great Success!

The Namsos comes in three different colours - in Silver, Copper Black, and Copper Red - and in three different weights: 25, 35, and 45 grams.

The garfish are here
24-05-2011
Well actually, they have been here for quite a while - since the beginning of the month at least. They will continue to stay here for another four weeks, and even though they tend to steal away focus from the sea trout, they can actually be quite fun to catch.

A lot of the Hansen spoons are quite good for garfish, but especially long and slender spoons such as the Keel Tobis, the Silver Arrow, the Fight and Flash lures in natural and flashy colours work well.

Hungry seatrout on the Lotus lure
20-04-2011
Hansen testpilot, Thomas Ask Rasmussen, and his fishing buddy Jack was out targeting seatrout the other day. The two experienced anglers quickly found a nice coastal stretch to fish, and it wasn't long before they had found the fish.

In no time, the two anglers had caught and released 4-5 fish each, but the fish were quite small. Jack, however, ended up saving the day. He put on the biggest Lotus lure in his arsenal, and shortly thereafter, he hooked a very nice seatrout with a bit more weight to it.

He managed to land the fish, and he decided it was a keeper. And when he got back home and cleaned up the fish, he noticed that it was completely full of small prey fish, lug worms, and shrimp. And still it couldn't resist the alluring action of the Lotus!
